Join Discussions of the Democratic Agenda and Platform at SPARC’s 12/11 meeting

The Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) State Policy and Rules Committee (SPARC) invites you to its meeting tomorrow, Saturday, December 11, 2021 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The meeting will offer an update on the American Indian Tribes and Pueblos, Immigration, International Relations, and Veterans and Military Affairs segments of the DPNM Platform.

SPARC has monthly Platform Meetings scheduled through February 5, 2022. The Platform lays out DPNM’s core values as applied to 19 areas of concern and action, from Agriculture to Women. Each monthly meeting will include three to four topics in order to cover all the topics before delegates to the Pre-primary Convention vote on the Platform this coming spring. SPARC hosts experts in each topic area and leads public discussions. The platform is a living document written by and for our communities. We want to see Democrats and activists like yourself all around the state engaged in shaping our Democratic platform and strengthening our democratic values.

In December, SPARC will host experts on American Indian Tribes and Pueblos (Isaac Casados), Immigration (Immigration Lawyer Rebecca Kitson), International Relations (Samia Assed), and Veterans & Military Affairs (Greg Seeley and Senator Harold J. Pope). The agenda is being updated as we confirm the final speakers (check here:

Please share this email with Democrats across Bernalillo County. It’s important to have participation from active Democrats and leaders at the precinct to statewide levels to ensure that the Platform comes from the grassroots and reflects the values of rural and urban communities, as well as communities of working people and people of color. As such, the Platform is a tool with which we can hold our elected officials accountable to their base.
