From the Central New Mexico Democrats newsletter:
If you want to join or take a leadership role in the Rural and Ranchers/ East Mountain Democratic Caucus, fill in the email AT THIS LINK with your name, physical address and phone by Inauguration Day, January 20, 2021. There is no membership fee.
The only requirement for membership and electeds is that you be a registered Democrat living outside the city limits of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, or Las Cruces. The caucus encourages sharing this information with other registered Democrats within the geographic range.
Members will vote on a new Board of Directors and changes to Bylaws in February. Positions available include Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and representative to the SCC. Nominations (please nominate yourself by email to above link if you are so inclined) will be open until January 20 as well.
Recently the Caucus opened and staffed an office in Cedar Crest (currently only by appointment) and during the election period was active distributing 500 Biden-Harris yard signs and numerous local candidates’ signs and materials. Since agriculture is a major driver of rural economies, the Caucus continues to advocate for state and federal policies that support and lift up the agriculture and food systems, to address weaknesses exposed by the pandemic in supply chains that deliver more New Mexico-grown food out-of-state than to New Mexicans.
