09/07/2026 — People are watching enormous data centers being proposed and built in their communities. They hear about the tremendous amounts of electricity required to operate them. They worry about water consumption, noise, land use, environmental effects and the possibility that ordinary consumers could end up paying higher utility bills to provide the infrastructure these facilities require.
09/02/2026 - The First Amendment to the United States Constitution says that government shall make no law abridging freedom of speech or of the press. The principle is straightforward: the government does not get to decide which stories the American people are permitted to hear simply because government officials do not like those stories.
08/27/2026 - Voting is one of those things we can easily take for granted. We register, receive a ballot, make our choices, and expect our vote to be counted. But behind that simple act is a remarkably complicated system of constitutional protections, laws, courts, election officials, and divisions of governmental authority.
08/25/2026 - Trust in government is difficult to build and remarkably easy to lose. Once that trust disappears, rebuilding it can take years. New Mexicans deserve better than political talking points. We deserve facts, transparency, accountability, and leaders willing to tell us the truth—even when the truth is inconvenient. Because at the end of the day, the White House belongs to the American people, and the American people deserve an honest answer.

07/07/2026 - New federal data on Affordable Care Act enrollment just dropped, and it is stark. After the enhanced subsidies expired on January 1, ACA enrollment across the country fell by 2.6 million people. Working people are losing coverage across America and its all Republican's fault. But New Mexico? We wouldn't allow that to happen. New Mexico was the exception across the entire Nation. We are the only state where ACA, enrollment increased—by 14 percent.
03/30/2026 - New Mexico has passed several bills advancing firearm safety: background checks bills, an Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO)/red flag law, and a seven day waiting period law. Last session a policy that is a basic Democratic platform tenet–semiautomatic firearm and high-capacity magazine restrictions–failed despite a Democratic trifecta lasting eight years. 03/03/2026 - You Deserve Better. This year has been heavy. Nationally, we’re watching democratic norms erode under Donald Trump — attacks on the rule of law, on immigrant families, on the LGBTQ+ community, and on basic truth itself. It’s exhausting to see cruelty normalized and science sidelined.
02/24/2026 - The 2026 New Mexico legislative session proved that Democratic leadership means focusing on real issues that impact real people. While national Republicans stay stuck in chaos and culture wars, Democrats here delivered concrete progress across the board.
