Thank You, Now Let’s Get to Work

While we focus on those internal goals and getting our house in order, we will also be focused on the world around us through our next campaign, “DPBC ASAP.” I fully believe that, through the powers of Advocacy, Service, Accountability, and People Power, we will begin to forge the future we deserve and need. Hello Bernalillo County Democrats,

My name is Jacob Trujillo and I am the next Chair of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County. (Whoa! That sounds so crazy to say.)

I am truly honored and humbled to have such widespread support and trust in this role. With the election in our rearview mirror, I am ready to get to work and deliver on my promises to bring a new, bright chapter for Democrats across Bernalillo County. At just 24 years old, I am ready to lead and build a coalition — a family — of all of us.

Later this week I’ll be sending out an email to the County Central Committee going over my plans for the next two years.

For now, I am assembling my team alongside one of the strongest advocates I have ever met, 1st Vice Chair Kathleen Moseley. Together, we will announce our 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and the composition of our Advisory Board in next week’s Blue Review.

While we focus on those internal goals and getting our house in order, we will also be focused on the world around us through our next campaign, “DPBC ASAP.” I fully believe that, through the powers of Advocacy, Service, Accountability, and People Power, we will begin to forge the future we deserve and need.

While I’m working on announcing upcoming events — like the revival of in-person general meetings and ward and precinct chair training seminars — I ask that you give yourself grace. Thank you to all of you who have been at rallies, contacted your elected officials, checked on a neighbor, and are politically engaged, because you care about this world and all its people. You are what makes me hopeful in times like now.

To Chairwoman Marisol Enriquez, 1st Vice Chair Chase Jacques-Maynes, and 2nd Vice Chair Abby Foster — on behalf of the Bernalillo County Democrats, thank you for your service and for being committed to a smooth transition. I know I am able to spend these next two years building up our “house” because of the foundation all previous DPBC leaders have laid for us.

As my full “Message From the Chair” email is waiting to be sent out, I want to reiterate my commitment to this role. As the son of two small business owners, a proud staffer to a Congressmember, and a New Mexican, I know I have a strong work ethic and care deeply for our community. Over the next two years, don’t hesitate to text, call, or email me when you need something. My phone number is (505) 948-7162. My personal email is JacobTru421@gmail.com.

Together, we will ensure the Democratic Party becomes grounded in the community, while staying focused on results.

Thank you for your support. Despite the darkness around us, I am excited for what DPBC will do as we move ahead.

With gratitude,

Jacob A. Trujillo
