Good morning, Bernalillo County Democrats,

The DPBC County Central Committee elections are well under way! Ballots have been returned and the ballot prep has begun. A public ballot counting Zoom will take place on Friday, March 14th at 9:00am. Please register ahead of time if you’d like to watch the process. 

Now that we’ve hit this part of the election cycle, we begin the second phase of our Spring elections process, which is to open Statement of Candidacy forms for Party Officers (Chair, Vice Chair) of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County and State Central Committee. 

You may know that I am not seeking re-election as Chair of the DPBC, because I have entered the race for Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. If you are interested in running for this position, you should know it has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and also one of the most challenging and rewarding roles I’ve held. If you are passionate and serious about organizing and mobilizing the county that contains the largest voting population in the state, one which bridges both urban and rural divides, and boasts a community rich in Democratic values, then I invite you to throw your name in the ring using the Chair, Vice Chair Candidacy Form. 

The State Central Committee candidacy period is now also open, and if you wish to become a part of the State Party’s governing body, then declare your candidacy now! In this role, you will vote on important issues affecting the Democratic Party of New Mexico, elect the officers, and help guide the State Party and Democratic elected officials via the State Party platform. Bernalillo County has a total of 162 State Central Committee members to elect, so if you’d like to be one of them, submit your SCC Candidacy form now! 

This is the time for a new chapter in both the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County and the Democratic Party of New Mexico, and you can be an important part of writing it!
