by Jacob Trujillo, Chair, DPBC

Hello Friends,
Two weeks ago, I began my term as your County Chair — and it’s already been an exciting, inspiring journey. As we build out our leadership team and launch key committees, I’ve also had the chance to connect with new leaders across our party about the work ahead.
Here’s a snapshot of our newly elected Democratic leaders:
Democratic Party of New Mexico
- Chair: Sara Attleson
- Vice Chair: Cameron Crawford
- Secretary: Brenda Hoskie
- Treasurer: Julie Rochman
Democratic Party of Bernalillo County
- Chair: Jacob Trujillo
- First Vice Chair: Kathleen Moseley
- Second Vice Chair: Daniel Brown
Young Democrats of New Mexico
- President: Marcos Balido
- Vice President: Emma D’Angelico
UNM Democrats
- President: Breahna Roark
- Vice President: David Cooper
This election season brought a wave of new faces to leadership. While many previous leaders chose not to seek reelection, this fresh slate reflects something bigger — the hunger for new energy, new ideas, and a new path forward. Our party believes deeply in these new leaders, and we are so proud of everyone who stepped up to serve. With new party leadership, we all come with a new vision for our party.
In the face of unprecedented attacks on our democracy by Donald Trump and his allies, our work has never been more important. These new leaders are ready to roll up their sleeves, hit the ground running, and deliver for Democrats at every level.
While we finish implementing our plans, I invite each of you to take action this week with our “DPBC ASAP” challenge:
- Advocate: Speak up about a policy you care about — from your local school board to Congress.
- Serve: Volunteer an hour with a local group, check on a neighbor, or donate to a cause.
- Accountability: Hold us — and your elected officials — accountable. If you need more info, or if a promise has been left hanging, reach out!
- People Power: Join a rally, attend a town hall or legislative recap, host a meeting with fellow Democrats, or support local businesses that share our values.
If you take action, we’d love to hear about it! Reply directly to me at chair@bernalillodems.org and share what you do — we may highlight your story in the next update.
Every day, I wake up grateful and proud to serve as your County Chair. I see your passion, your questions, and your heart for this work, and it inspires me every step of the way.
Let’s keep pushing forward — together.
In solidarity,
Jacob Trujillo
Chair, Democratic Party of Bernalillo County
