During last week’s DPBC general meeting, there were questions about why more resources for precinct and ward chairs were not available on the website.
The site has a wealth of resources available to both party members and ward and precinct chairs. Many of these resources, added in early 2024, were designed to help organize events, engage with party members, and canvas. This article shows how to access Ward & Precinct Chair Resources, and will be followed by articles about other resources.
Getting to and Using Ward & Precinct Resources
On the homepage, under the About menu, select Ward & Precinct Resources.

There is also a link to the Ward & Precinct Resources on the footer of the home page, in the form of a Resources button, highlighted in red below.

Links on this page lead to five key resources:
- Ward & Precinct Resources — leadership rosters, maps, and information on political districts, including municipal districts, such as City Council and Public School districts, and more.
- Ward Chair Grants — tools for ward chairs to apply for grants to fund events and activities.
- VoteBuilder Resources — tools to create and request lists for canvassing and other work with constituents.
- TeamBuilder Resources — sophisticated searches and the ability to download result lists.
- DPBC Governance — information on the work of the DPBC Rules and Resolutions committees.
The Ward & Precinct Resources page, which is the focus of this article, has a DPBC Chairs & Members tab with links to searchable and sortable lists of:
- All Roles
- Ward Officers
- Rules & Resolutions, and
- Precinct Chairs.
In addition, this tab provides Other Chair Resources, which includes:
- Other Important Resources
- Ward Grants
- TeamBuilder Resources
- VoteBuilder Resources, and
- Tools to make appointments, change information about ward officers, or submit a resignation by a ward or precinct officer.
- Chair Resource Manuals with two key manuals and related maps:
- DPBC Party Roles, Responsibilities, and Powers
- The DPBC Ward and Precinct Chair Resource Manual — covers how the party functions and how ward and precinct chairs can best do their jobs.
The HD & SD Maps page contains these subtabs:
- About These Maps — a brief overview.
- BernCo Map Overviews — four maps divide Bernalillo County into East, Center, West, and All. Each regional map has clickable links to NM House District Maps that show the district and its wards and precincts. The maps are downloadable.
- HD Maps — detailed maps for wards and each precinct within a ward. For each ward, there is an All Maps PDF. It includes the following, which are also available individually:
- Ward Map, an overview showing the boundaries of its precincts.
- Precinct maps in the ward.
- Enlarged portions of precincts or wards where more detail is needed, designated with 🔎
- SD Maps — a map for each State Senate district. These, too, show each precinct within the district.
- Bernalillo County Political District Interactive Maps — maps from the county. Despite being complex, they provide a way to zoom in for details.
The Precinct Districts page is a table that shows the relationship between municipal districts, such as City Council Districts and School Board Districts, with their wards and precincts. For example, a search for “APS 3” will show the precincts that are included in that district. Note that precincts are listed with sub numbers (such as .1, .2, .3) to address where precincts straddle either a municipality or a School Board or City Council district. You can also search by precinct or ward number to find how that precinct or ward aligns to municipalities and election districts.
To get the best sense of the location of school board and city council districts, go to the Bernalillo County Political District Interactive Maps and select Political Districts, then the kind of district to map.
The Candidates TBA page is intended to inform chairs who the candidates are in each of the political districts, and should be used in November. It is associated with tables that include other information related to the election.
