by Daniel Brown, 2nd Vice Chair, DPBC

Hello, my name is Daniel Brown and I’m very proud to announce my appointment for 2nd Vice Chair of DPBC. I’ve been a lifelong Democrat that champions progressive values and pledge to do my very best serving the great county of Bernalillo.

A little about me: I came to this great state in 2015 on a work contract that was to last 3 months. During that short period I fell in love with the state, the land, the culture, and the people — and of course the green and red chile!

I then decided to embark on a new chapter in my life. I have since been a student at CNM majoring in business management and minoring in political science. I’ve had a 10-plus year career in food and beverage and customer service. I’ve been a bartender at Isotopes Stadium and even a food safety inspector at Balloon Fiesta, I’ve always been on the front lines of community engagement. I’m also involved in the local queer community and I sit on the board of the LGBTQIA+ Caucus for the Democratic Party as the 2nd Vice Chair for Outreach and Engagement.

Even though I have only been involved in local party politics for barely a year, I have accomplished a lot. I was proudly elected as a delegate-alternate to represent our great state at the DNC last year. I was also elected chair of Precinct 253. I also worked closely with the previous chair Marisol Enriquez to organize SeptemberFest while also producing events for the LGBTQIA+ caucus.

Community means the world to me. Without family in New Mexico, I have always relied on the relationships I have built with friends and colleagues. I am ready to bring that mindset to DPBC. I will work with Chair Trujillo and 1st Vice Chair Moseley to ensure our party remains grounded in the communities we serve.

As a lifelong Democrat who has always stood by my values, I am ready to bring my experience, integrity, and commitment to this great county and party. I very much look forward to meeting all the ward and precinct chairs as we organize and carve a path forward to stand up against the MAGA agenda and keep our great county deep blue!
