Good Turnout to Training; Website Registration

We had a good turnout for our first Ward Chair Training on Saturday, out on the West Side, including several ward chairs and others coming from all the way across town! This coming Thursday it’ll be an evening training at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center and then on Saturday at the UNM Law School (see the article below for details). And don’t forget the extra training that we added at the Sheet Metal Workers Union near the airport next week.

Just a reminder for those ward chairs who picked up their packets on Saturday, and for those who’ll get theirs at the next three trainings: your packet should remain sealed until you’re ready to start your meeting, and should only be opened with a witness present. Both you and your witness should sign the label that’s on the packet to attest to the fact that it had remained sealed.

For everyone, but especially for those who will be elected as your ward’s representative to either the Rules/Credentials Committee or the Resolutions Committee, there is a new feature that is now available on the website. Please go to and sign up as a registered user on the site. Once you’ve been verified as a registered Democrat in Bernalillo County you’ll be added to the appropriate “group” for your ward. Within your group you’ll be able to upload documents and communicate with others in your ward via a discussion forum. Most importantly, we also have groups set up for the two standing committees, which we hope will facilitate the sharing of documents pertinent to those two committees and, hopefully, take a little bit of the crunch out of the short time span that the Rules and Resolutions Committees have to prepare for the March 30th committee meetings and the April 6th CCC meeting.

There will be even more features available on the site as work on it progresses, so sign up now and start exploring. Don’t be too upset if you stumble on a link that’s not working yet, as this is still a work in progress, but when you scroll down on the home page there’s a form for providing feedback to us. We want to hear from you, both the good and the bad.

Let’s keep working together!
